#30 Roofing Felt

Asphalt saturated felts are underlayment products that are applied to roof decks before installing asphalt shingles. Felts are manufactured from organic mat and saturated with high-grade asphalt. #30 is also known as Number 30 felt. Back in the day, the "Number" referred to the weight per square. Improved technology and lighter weight materials have changed the weight, but the name still sticks around!
